Austin Hernon Earns Contract for Sixth Book

Austin Hernon, author of two series of historical adventure novels, has a publishing contract for a sixth title from Sapere Books.

This will be the third in his Wars of the Magna Carta series, set in twelfth century England and featuring the Siege of Lincoln where two women battle to save their town from foreign invasion and from the powerful men who try to ride roughshod over their authority. The first two books, also published by Sapere, are The Battle For England and A Contest of Wills. The third is nominally titled The Peace of the Magna Carta and focuses on the life of the boy who became king in the middle of the First Barons’ War when only nine years old; Henry III.

Austin’s first novels were the Robert the Wayward Prince series, a trilogy about Robert, Duke of Normandy, the eldest son of William the Conqueror. Robert might never have become King of England but he had plenty of adventures – in France and Italy, in England and on crusade in the Holy Land. This series is published by Lume Books (formerly Endeavour).

Fiction Feedback first began working with Austin back in 2010 and he is one of our longest established customers. Dea remembers the very first book, Robert the Wayward Prince, was originally written in the third person and that it was encouraging Austin, a novice writer, to try writing in the first person that led to his breakthrough.
