Synopsis Writing

So many authors find this challenging! Yet if you’re looking for an agent or publisher, it’s one of the most essential aspects of your submission. What’s more, agents and publishers are putting increasing emphasis on it, so we recommend the synopsis is an element to focus on if a traditional publishing contract is your goal. If your synopsis isn’t up to scratch, and doesn’t do your book justice, you’re unlikely to be asked for your full manuscript. Don’t let this happen to you; use our helpful service to maximise your chances of success.

Fiction Feedback can help in three ways.

  1. By assessing the strengths and weaknesses of your synopsis as part of our Submission Package Special – see here.
  2. By reading your novel and editing your own draft synopsis: £175
  3. By reading your novel and creating a synopsis from scratch: £245

These prices apply to novels of between 65,000 and 100,000 words. If your novel falls outside those parameters, get in touch for a quote.

Please note: we can only write or redraft a synopsis for you when the novel (or narrative non-fiction, such as memoir) is at final stages. This is not a service you should invest money in while the book is still under development.

Please also note: we can’t guarantee that even a professionally written synopsis will persuade an agent or publisher to offer a contract. However, assuming your novel is of a high standard it increases the chances!
